Casting change at Studio Players
After opening weekend, there has been a casting change in Studio Players' production of Ladies at the Alamo. Rachel Rogers has been replaced by director
Tonda-Leah Fields (photo, right) in the role of Dede.
"The board acted in accordance with notification from her mother that she was too ill to perform on Sunday," Studio spokesperson and Alamo cast member Pam Perlman said Tuesday. "So as to not put additional pressure on Rachel, we have elected to replace her for the remainder of the run."
The play will continue through April 6. Perlman said she did not know the nature of Rogers' illness, which caused the Easter Sunday performance of the play to be canceled.
"She is a brilliant actor and we hope for her improved health," Perlman said.
