1,000

I hadn't really thought about this milestone until I looked at the post counter on my TypePad home page and realized I was into the high 900s. Well, this post takes me over the top, into four digits. It's numero  1,000, which, considering I wondered how long this blog would last when it started Aug. 13, 2006, feels pretty darned good.

If you're doing the math, it's pretty easy: That comes out to more than 500 posts a year since I started writing Copious Notes. It's been an interesting process. There are things I started and then stopped, because maybe they weren't as great an idea as they seemed when I started. I've taken le blog to New York several times as well as excursions to Owensboro and Nashville, and spots all around Kentucky including the Derby and Ichthus. I've rediscovered a love of photography, made e-friends, and learned little computer tricks I thought were the sole domain of nerd herds.

I've had fun, and I hope you have too. That's really the most important thing to me, that this forum be a lively and informative place to get information and have conversation about arts, entertainment, and culture here in the Bluegrass and around the world. 

The 1,000th post is a milestone, but not a finish line. So rather than toot my horn, back to the beat.
