Jars of Clay and last year's big winner, Chris Tomlin, lead the list of nominees in the 38th annual Dove Awards, gospel music's biggest honors, which will be handed out April 25 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
Tomlin's (photo, right) nine nominations include artist of the year and song of the year for Made to Worship and his See the Morning album is nominated for pop/contemporary album of the year and worship album of the year. Jars garnered six nominations on the strength of its critically acclaimed Good Monsters album, including artist and group of the year.
Joining Jars and Tomlin in the artist of the year race are Casting Crowns, the Crabb Family, Stellar Kart, Third Day and TobyMac.
